Managers play a critical role in setting the tone for a positive, inclusive working environment that encourages job satisfaction and helps retain good employees. Do you understand how to prioritize wellness and avoid burnout at work? Do you take the time to recognize your employees' good work?

In-Person Sessions
Everything DiSC Assessment
Thursday, January 30, 2025, 10 a.m.- 12 p.m., Employee Learning Center
Everything DiSC helps individuals understand their work behaviors, the behaviors of others, and how to use this knowledge in the workplace. Participants will complete the assessment before the program begins. In the first session, we will explore how DiSC profiles influence our work and relationships. Throughout the six-week course, we will revisit the DiSC assessment to help you apply what you learn to your leadership style and work environment.
Building a Positive Workplace Culture
Thursday, February 6, 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Employee Learning Center
This session will help you assess your current workplace culture, recognize its strengths, and identify areas for improvement. You will consider how to show compassion and respect for employees, appreciate their unique strengths and challenges, and implement meaningful practices of recognition.
Practical Application
This program emphasizes practical application of your learning. Which of these do you already do well and often and which of them do you need to implement or improve?
- Assess your workplace culture and identify any areas that you would like to improve. What is your plan for creating a more positive and respectful workplace?
- Ask your employees how they like to be recognized and then recognize one (or more) of your employees for their good work. How did they respond?
- Review OOLD’s list of wellness trainings and encourage your team to complete at least one.
- Hold an event designed to increase connection among your team members (coffee break, volunteer project, virtual retreat).
- With your team, watch the and then implement what you've learned in your meetings together (e.g. identify a standing meeting that does not need to be a meeting and cancel it; make sure every meeting has a purpose and agenda, etc.)
