Curriculum Proposal Approval Process
The Office of the Provost coordinates submission of 老虎机攻略’s curriculum change proposals to the Montana Board of Regents (BOR), via the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education (OCHE). delineates the responsibilities held by the board for monitoring and approving proposals for new offerings and modifications to existing offerings at 老虎机攻略.
All curriculum proposals must be initiated within CourseLeaf – 老虎机攻略’s new Curriculum Integration Management (CIM) software for curriculum proposal submission and routing. Please see the curriculum review page of the Faculty Senate webpage for further information and instructions for using CourseLeaf.
Timeline
The first step to any curriculum proposal is working with the Office of the Provost to identify which type of change you are making. Please consult Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and/or the Academic Policy Manager before completing any paperwork to ensure you are taking the correct route. This will prevent you from completing unnecessary forms and/or needing to make significant revisions down the road.
Upcoming deadlines to submit proposals to Provost's office:
*Please note that these dates follow all internal workflow approvals through CourseLeaf.
- Request to Plan (RTP) due dates:
- January 8, 2025 (for the March BOR meeting)
- March 19, 2025 (for the May BOR meeting)
- The Fall deadline for submitting curriculum proposals is September 27, 2024.
The timing of curriculum proposals is driven by the due dates maintained by OCHE and by the BOR meeting schedule. Please see the following links to pages on the Montana University System (MUS) website for further information.
Please be aware that although Level I and Level II proposals are accepted by OCHE on a rolling monthly basis, their inclusion in the quarterly BOR meetings do not follow immediately upon the prior month’s due date. As you are planning the timing of your proposal, be prepared for a certain degree of lag-time between submission to OCHE and inclusion upon the BOR meeting agenda
