Student Code of Conduct Mission
Procedures defining student Academic Rights and Responsibilities and Academic Conduct are outlined in the Student Code of Conduct.
This Code of Conduct embodies and promotes honesty, integrity, accountability, and duties associated with citizenship as a student in our community at the 老虎机攻略. This Code exists to protect the interests of the community and dignity of its members, and to challenge those behaviors which are not in accordance with our policies. This Code describes expected standards of behavior for all students, including academic conduct and general conduct, and it outlines students’ rights, responsibilities, and the campus processes for adjudicating alleged violations.
Faculty are essential in modeling academic responsibility, addressing academic misconduct, and finding restorative resolutions that encourage student learning.
What to Do If You Discover a Case of Academic Misconduct
The Office of the Provost is here to support faculty as they navigate the Academic Misconduct process. If you suspect a student has engaged in academic misconduct, take the following actions:
- Investigate and document the incident.
- Consult with your department chair.
- Contact the student within ten (10) working days to arrange a meeting.
- Inform the student of your findings and their rights under the Student Code of Conduct.
- If a suspected case of academic misconduct involves a significant number of students (for example, over five students sharing test materials), contact the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs immediately.

This section provides step-by-step guidance on investigating incidents, meeting with students, and determining and reporting sanctions.

Instructors must document suspected incidents immediately using the system. This system serves as the central repository for managing and tracking academic misconduct and alerting relevant academic officers. A case will be created to track progress, record notes, and store relevant documents. Any subsequent reports updating the status of the incident will be added to this case.

If the instructor and student resolve the incident in a mutually agreeable manner, the instructor will provide official written notice to the student using one of the following .
If the student appeals the decision, the appeals process outlined in the Student Code of Conduct is managed through the Academic Misconduct Referral system, ensuring consistency and proper documentation.

If a student exhibits disruptive or concerning behaviors in the course that is impacting their learning and the learning of others, contact the Coordination, Assessment, Response, Education, and Support Team (CARES). This team, formerly known as the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT), is a campus-wide team of appointed professionals responsible for identifying, assessing, and responding to serious concerns and/or disruptive behaviors by students who may threaten the health or safety of the campus community.
