Reappointments in U-Approve
Letter of Appointment (LOA) Reappointments are automatically generated 40 days prior to the end date of the current LOA.
How to Complete the LOA Reappointment:
- Select end date for new appointment
- Autofills with one year, but this date can be changed
- Select increase type:
- None
- Amount - flat dollar amount
- Percent
- Enter approvals and click "Save" after each approval
- Recruitment - Marcie Briggs for all LOA Reappointments
- HRA is by assigned department
- Select Status
- Submit form
If the LOA will not be reappointment, please select the status of "Not Approved". The HRA will be notified but the employee will not. Please complete appropriate offboarding steps including completing and submitting the separation from employment form.
LOA Increases
Select Marcie Briggs as Recruitment Approver for all increases greater than the standard increase. Standard Increase for FY 24-25 was automatically applied to all LOA positions effective 7/1/24. Any additional increase will require the steps below.
- For increase requests greater than the standard increase for the year:
- Upload a memo justification for the increase
- Required Additional Approvers:
- Dean/Director/Designee
- sector Vice President or Designee
- Vice President of Operations and Finance
- If the position is grant funded, add Vice President Scott Whittenburg as an additional approver
- For requests that include changes to the role description:
- Upload an updated role description
- Add Libby Newman as an additional approver
- The written justification must address valid points for increase such as: increased duties and responsibilities; greater levels of integration with a national or international program; advanced levels of academic achievement attained in prior year; increased levels of publication; increased levels of grant and/or personnel management; or other appropriate reason.
