The 老虎机攻略 Dance Program launches the season with our annual event: Dance on Location. This free outdoor concert begins at 老虎机攻略’s Mansfield Library Mall and unfolds as the audience travels (on foot, bike, stroller, skateboard, etc.) to different venues around and near campus to behold distinct dance and performance-art installations. Dance on Location invites the audience to celebrate the gems of 老虎机攻略’s beautiful campus through the eyes of a choreographer and the magnificent movement of dancers.

Henrietta Levitt dreams of the stars. However, as she starts her work at the Harvard Observatory, her dreams are thwarted by the societal views at the start of the twentieth century when such things as the use of a telescope are the province of men alone. She persists in her passion, balancing it with real-world obligations of family and the possibility of romance. In the end, Henrietta’s brilliance and dedication lead her to unlocking the secrets of mapping the universe. Dance Underground is a uniquely intimate production that provides a platform for choreographers to experiment with choreography and performances. Choreographic work from students and faculty will be presented in this distinctive production.
ACDA Benefit Concert

This celebratory performance—老虎机攻略’s twenty-second annual production—features performers and choreographers who will be attending the Northwest Regional Conference of the American College Dance Association (ACDA). ACDA is an extraordinary opportunity and highlight for most university dance students, and this is a great chance for our audiences to help them get there.

What’s in a name? For Jack Worthing, it’s his future happiness. The love of his life is incapable of returning such affection to someone named Jack. He therefore woos her under the assumed name of Ernest, hoping to someday resolve the predicament. Meanwhile, Jack’s best friend has fallen in love with someone who returns his affection under the assumption that he is also named Ernest. Should the friends both be rechristened with the same first name? Is there any way to convince the imperious Lady Bracknell to accept Jack as a son-in-law? Will there be enough cucumber sandwiches? Join us for Oscar Wilde’s comic romp through the foibles of “well-mannered” British aristocrats.

Some of the most passionate stories told throughout history began in ancient Greece. In reimagining Ovid’s beautiful poetry, pioneering playwright Mary Zimmerman brings his stories to life in a large pool of water--a metaphor that the cosmos is forever changing, whether calm as a lake or violent as a typhoon. The perils of Midas’ greed, the dedication between Orpheus and Eurydice even in death, the divine rewards for kindness to strangers, and many more stories are explored in this unique and beautiful production.

Dance in Concert features the most finely crafted, developed, and performed choreography of the season. This popular annual concert celebrates the culminating choreographic work of students, faculty, and locally cherished guest artists. Performed in the beautiful Montana Theatre, this production provides audiences with a rich feast of choreographic invention, lighting, scenic, and costume design.
The School of Theatre and Dance acknowledges that we are in the aboriginal territories of the Salish and Kalispell people. We honor the path they have always shown us in caring for this place for the generations to come.

During evenings and afternoons when Theatre and Dance performances are the only events on campus, patrons can find convenient parking in the P, Z, and N lots. See the map below for details.
Parking can be difficult during performances that coincide with events at the Adams Center. P and Z lots are used for reserved and paid parking. Patrons are welcome to purchase parking at their discretion.
Limited free parking is available in the N parking lot between PARTV and the Law School to the North and the College of Education and the School of Music to the South and along Maurice and 6th Street. These spaces may be shared with other events in the College of the Arts and Media so we recommend coming early to get your spot.
Parking during Football Games is not open to Theatre and Dance patrons. We recommend arriving early, , or parking in the University District.

The School of Theatre and Dance is committed to creating welcoming events. The following is service is available at all performances in the Masquer and Montana Theatres:
Assistive Listening Devices
The Masquer and Montana theatres each have an FM assistive listening system for patrons who are hard of hearing. Earphones and neckloops are available at the Box Office for checkout during performances. Patrons will be required to leave a credit card or the number of their active Griz Card until the equipment is returned.
In addition, each theatre production sold on Griztix will feature an advertised performance (generally a weekend matinee) featuring both of the following:
Audio Description
Audio description is a service for patrons who are blind or have low vision. Through an inconspicuous FM receiver, the listener hears a description of the visual elements of the performance between lines of dialogue. Patrons will be required to leave a credit card or the number of their active Griz Card until the equipment is returned.
CART Captioning
CART stands for Communication Access Realtime Translation for the hearing impaired. CART provides a written, verbatim account of what is being said live in the theatre in realtime and displayed on a screen located in a reserved section of the theatre.

Refreshments
Our concession counter is open before the performance and during intermission. Please enjoy your refreshments in the lobby and do not bring food or drink into the theatre.

Tobacco use is prohibited in or on property owned, leased, or used for specific events by the University or any of its components.
