Action Items
Action items must be completed prior to registering for classes. See the following step-by-step instructions for each action item. If you need help completing the action items using a screen reader, contact the Registrar's Office for assistance.
Action items are not mobile friendly. Using a laptop or desktop computer is strongly recommended.

Address Verification
Confirm that your mailing address and current home location are are up to date or make edits as needed.
- Current Mailing Address: This is the address where you would like mail from the University to be sent.
- Current Home Location: This is the address where you will be living while classes are in session during the upcoming semester.

Step One: Log In to CyberBear
Log in to CyberBear using your NetID and password.
Step Two: My Action Items
Select "My Action Items" from the bottom of the main menu.
Step Three: Return to List
Skip if using a laptop or computer.
If you are using a mobile device (not recommended), click the "Return to List" button before completing the next step.
Step Four: Click Title
Open the action item by clicking the blue underlined title, "Spring 2025 Address Action." If the action item isn't already expanded, click the small arrow icon next to the address action item to reveal the blue underlined title.
If you are using a computer, the action item will open on the right half of the screen.
Wait up to 10 seconds for the action item to appear.
Step Five: Edit Addresses as Needed
Make any necessary updates to your address and fill in missing fields.
Tips
- Copy Address: Click "Use Home Address" to copy your mailing address into the home location section.
- Residence Halls: If you will be in a residence hall but have not yet been assigned a dorm room, enter 32 Campus Dr Missoula, MT 509801 as a placeholder address.
- No Addresses on File: If no addresses appear, click the "Add New Mailing Address" and "Add New Current Home Address" buttons.
- International Addresses: The state field is required, so type *** as a placeholder for a U.S. state.
Step Six: Fill in Country Field
The country field does not auto-populate, so make sure to select a country for both of your addresses before submitting.
Step Seven: Submit
Click the "Confirm" button to save your addresses and mark the action as complete. Check the status icon to make sure it is successfully completed. The status icon should change from "Pending" to "Completed."
If you are on a mobile device (not recommended), click "Return to List" to see the status icon and move on to the next action item. If you previously had opened the emergency contact action item, it will continue to appear beneath the address action item, so you will need to scroll back up to the top of the screen.
Financial Responsibility Agreement
Acknowledge that you understand and agree to the University's Financial Responsibility Agreement.

Step Five: Read Agreement
Read through the entire Financial Responsibility Agreement so that you understand the financial implications of registering for classes.
Step Six: Agree to Terms
Click the "I Agree" button once you have read and understand the agreement. If you have questions about the content of this agreement, contact Student Accounts at 406-243-2223.
Check the status icon to make sure it is successfully completed. The status icon should change from "Pending" to "Completed."
If you are on a mobile device (not recommended), click "Return to List" to see the status icon and move on to the next action item. If you previously had opened the emergency contact action item, it will continue to appear beneath the financial agreement, so you will need to scroll back up to the top of the screen.
Insurance Election
Purchase health insurance coverage through the University or confirm that you are already covered by an outside health insurance plan.

Step Five: Read the Insurance Requirements
Read through the University Health Insurance Requirements.
- If you are already covered by an outside health insurance plan and would like to opt out of the University-provided health insurance option, select the "I have insurance" button.
- If you do not have your own health insurance plan, click the "Purchase Insurance" button to opt into the Blue Cross Blue Shield Student Health Insurance Plan (BCBS SHIP).
Step Four: Submit
Click the "Confirm" button at the bottom of the action item to mark the action as complete.
Check the status icon to make sure it is successfully completed. The status icon should change from "Pending" to "Completed."
If you are on a mobile device (not recommended), click "Return to List" to see the status icon and move on to the next action item. If you previously had opened the emergency contact action item, it will continue to appear beneath the insurance action item, so you will need to scroll back up to the top of the screen.
Update Emergency Contact
Confirm that your emergency contacts on file are up to date or edit it if needed.

This action item is especially glitchy on mobile devices, so we highly recommend using a laptop or desktop computer. Once you open the emergency contact action on a phone, it doesn't close and blocks the other action items.
Step One: Log In to CyberBear

Select "My Action Items" from the bottom of the main menu.

If you are using a mobile device (not recommended), click the "Return to List" button before completing the next step.

Click the small arrow icon next to the emergency contact action item to expand the title.
Open the action item by clicking the blue underlined title, "Spring 2025 Emergency Contact." If you are using a computer, the action item will open on the right half of the screen.
Wait up to 10 seconds for the action item to appear.
Step Five: Edit Contacts as Needed
Make any necessary updates to your emergency contacts.
Tips
- Fill In All Fields: Double check that all fields are completed before submitting.
- No Emergency Contact on File: If no emergency contacts appear, click the "Add Emergency Contact" button to create one.
- Shared Address: Click "Use Home Address" to copy your mailing address if you and your emergency contact share an address.

Troubleshooting Tips

Pending Status
The purple pending status means that the action item is not complete. See troubleshooting tips if you have attempted to complete the action, but it is not showing as completed.
Completed Status
The green completed status means that you have successfully completed the action item, and it is no longer halting registration.
Note #1: You will continue to see the red circle icon after completing each action item. As long as all of your action items are complete, you will be able to register.
Note #2: The "View Action Items" popup box will continue to display when you log in to CyberBear until the 3rd week of the upcoming semester. Simply click "Dismiss" to enter CyberBear after completing the action items.

Many action item issues, like elements not appearing or screens not loading, are due to the browser cache and cookies needing to be reset.

Possible reasons for addresses not saving:
- Check to make sure the state and country fields are filled in.
- If the state field does not appear on the screen, clear your browser cache.
- If you live outside of the United States, type "FC" (foreign country) in place of a state.

You will continue to see the red circle icon after completing each action item. This symbol simply means that the action item will halt registration until the status is "Completed."
As long as all of your action items show the "Completed" status, you will be able to register.

The "View Action Items" popup box will continue to display when you log in to CyberBear until the 3rd week of the upcoming semester.
Simply click "Dismiss" to enter CyberBear after completing the action items, and you will be able to proceed to registration in CyberBear.
