The Community Development Coordinator (CDC) and Senior RA (SRA) is a live-in staff member that works with the community development and administrative needs of a 1-3 Residence Halls, Lewis and Clark Village, or University Villages. They work closely with the Area Coordinator, Apartment Office Managers or Hall Administrative Assistants, and student staff to foster an atmosphere for academic, social, cultural, and emotional growth in the Residence Hall(s) or Apartments by serving as an advisor to the residents and assisting the student staff in community development and enforcement of all University and hall policies. They are also involved with the general well-being, community development, and student learning environment in the Residence Hall(s) or Apartment area.
Please read the Residence Hall CDC Position Description for additional information about the RH CDC position. This position is 25 hours per week and an academic year leadership position. Residence Hall CDCs earn an on-campus room or apartment, meal plan, and stipend based on their Residence Hall placement.
Please read the Apartment CDC Position Description for additional information about the Apt CDC position. This position is roughly 20 hours per week and is a full calendar year leadership position. Apartment CDCs earn an apartment in their area for one calendar year and a stipend based on the type of apartment they live in.
Community Development Coordinator/Senior RA Application Process
Application
All Community Development Coordinator and Senior RA candidates must complete an online Community Development Coordinator and Senior RA Application to be considered for the position. Candidates will indicate whether they are interested in the Apartment CDC position, the Residence Hall CDC position, Senior RA, or all three.
Individual Interview
All Community Development Coordinator and Senior RA candidates must attend a 45-minute individual interview. This interview will begin with a candidate presentation followed by a question and answer session to understand your interest in the position and related experience.
Presentation
All Community Development Coordinator and Senior RA candidates must do a presentation as a part of the interview process. Your presentation will take place at the beginning of your interview and should be approximately 15 minutes. A presentation prompt will be provided during the application process.
Presentation suggestion: Please feel free to present this information in a way that you feel comfortable; be creative, energetic, and authentic. Please do not use Prezi as it is not accessible for all people.
Hiring Notification
All Community Development Coordinator and Senior RA candidates will be notified of their hiring status in February 2024.
Minimum Qualifications
- 2.5 GPA
- Be in good conduct standing with the University
- Be a full-time student (12-18 credits)
- Interest in working with people
