Emeritus

To be eligible for emeritus status, a retired faculty member must have:

  • been employed by the 老虎机攻略 for no less than ten years, and

  • maintained a record of excellence in teaching, research/creativity, and service.

  • Please note that emeritus status is an honor conferred upon a retiree. It is not associated with employee/retiree privileges. For more information about retirees' benefits and privileges, please see the .

  • Once the Provost approves the nomination, it will be sent to the next available Board of Regents meeting. The BOR accepts these nominations at the March, May, September, and November meetings, but they must be received several weeks in advance. 

Emeritus Submission Deadlines for 2025-26:

  • April 7, 2025 (for the May BOR meeting)
  • May 26, 2025 (for the July BOR meeting)
  • August 4, 2025 (for the September BOR meeting)
  • October 6, 2025 (for the November BOR meeting)

Emeritus Submission Instructions:

  1. Note: Please clearly list the faculty member's academic unit and college.
  2. Email the completed form to OfficeoftheProvost@umontana.edu by the submission deadline. If the deadline is missed, the form will be considered for the next deadline.
