Non-credit Workforce Training
Program Overview:
Have you ever wanted to learn the skills to take care of your home, or to build a simple garden bed. Our program and curriculum has been designed to give women the confidence to work with power tools, how to care for different areas of your home and gain confidence to DIY.
Our knowledgeable instructors help you tackle your DIY projects with guidance along the way.
The focus of this training is to expose participants to a wide array of basic knowledge for the building trades industry. Just some of the skills covered include:

hand and power tool use and safety

basic construction/building math & how to read plans

carpentry and rough framing

concrete and other common construction material basics

basic home maintenance
This program focuses on providing a safe environment for women to ask questions, try out tools, and celebrate making something with their own two hands. Whether your hope is to make minor repairs and improvements on your home or to learn more about a career in the construction /building industry, this program provides valuable life skills. Participants will leave with basic tools to take home as well!
Flexible and Affordable

Course Dates: August 21 & 22.
Classroom Instruction (30 instructional hours)
30 hours of online modules that can be done at the trainee's pace and on their schedule. Must be completed prior to onsite hands-on training.
Hands-On (15 hours)
Onsite training will consist of using trainee's new skill to build a garden shed with fencing and a raised planter box/garden bed.

Program Cost
Accelerate Montana can cover the cost of participation for up to 10 participants.
