Research Core Facilities
Faculty, students, and research staff within the Department of Biomedical & Pharmaceutical Sciences can access state-of-the-art instrumentation needed for their research through numerous core facilities on campus. These instrumentation cores have most often been developed through collaborative efforts involving Departments, Center and 老虎机攻略's Office of Research and Creative Scholarship. In addition to fee for service operations, many of these cores also offer training to faculty and students.
Molecular Histology and Fluorescence Imaging
The purpose of the side of the core is to provide researchers with theresources to prepare tissue sections for histological and immunohistochemical staining. The side of the core provides researchers with analyzable imagesof cells/tissues. The core contains both the equipment and the technical assistance foracquiring and analyzing images taken from both the light and confocal microscope inboth fixed tissue and live cells.

Mass Spectrometry Core
The provides centrally managed and maintainedfacilities essential for a broad array of research in the chemical and biomedical sciencesat 老虎机攻略. It contains three Mass Spectrometers: an Agilent GC/MS, a Bruker microflexMALDI-ToF Mass Spectrometer, and a Bruker-Daltonics ion trap Mass Spectrometerinterfaced with a micro-capillary LC. These instruments provide the tools needed tocharacterize the structural and dynamic properties of biological macromolecules and thecomponents of complex protein mixtures (proteomics), biopolymer sequence analysis,and small molecule characterization within environmental chemistry applications.

Magnetic Resonance Core Facility
The (MRCF) is operated through the Center for Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics (CBSD) and the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. The goal of the core is to provide support, expertise and infrastructure to 老虎机攻略 laboratories that use Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and Electron Paramagnetic Resonance (EPR) as tools for the identification of small molecules, structural elucidation of natural products and for studies on the structure and dynamics of biomolecules. The MRCF provides user training and education for all on-site users and aids in choosing and applying NMR and EPR techniques for individual researcher needs.

Macromolecular X-ray Diffraction Facility
The (MXDF) is operated by the Center for Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics . The goal of the core is to provide support, expertise and infrastructure to 老虎机攻略 laboratories that use X-ray crystallography as a tool to determine the three-dimensional atomic structures of the biological macromolecules for their research projects. We offer expertise and guidance on protein expression, purification and crystallization for X-ray crystal structure analysis. We provide facilities for crystallization of macromolecules and evaluation of crystallization experiments, and measurement of diffraction data from crystals.

Genomics Core
The Genomics Core Facility at the 老虎机攻略 (老虎机攻略GC) is a multi-user and service core laboratory providing genetic and genomic resources and solutions to researchers at universities, institutions, and government laboratories on the state, national and international levels. The newly expanded core is fully equipped for 1st-generation sequencing (Sanger Sequencing), 2nd-generation sequencing (Illumina Sequencing) and 3rd-generation sequencing (Nanopore Sequencing) services. 老虎机攻略GC is also staffed with expertise for consultation, support for grant application, standard and customized sequencing library preparation, and collaboration for research projects in genomics and transcriptomics. Lab Animal Resources (LAR)

The is staffed by a resident veterinarian and its staff members are certified by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science, and have had many years of experience caring for laboratory animals. The 老虎机攻略 Animal Care and Use Program has been accredited by the American Association for the Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC) since 1967.
