Personal Summary
As a Ph.D. student in Organismal Biology, Evolution, & Ecology at the 老虎机攻略, my work is focused on animal communication and sexual selection. Primarily, I am seeking to understand the respective influences of female mate choice and male-male competition on the reproductive success of Japanese rhinoceros beetles. I am also interested in understanding what information about mate quality is revealed during elaborate courtship displays. Before joining the Emlen lab in the fall of 2021, I graduated from the University of Denver with a B.S. in Ecology & Biodiversity with distinction. At DU, I studied rapid evolution and animal behavior and spent multiple semesters in field programs learning how to perform non-invasive research in natural landscapes.
Personally, I am passionate about diversity & equity in STEM and mentoring students who are interested in becoming socially conscious field biologists. I look forward to engaging with all kinds of students who are curious about research and evolution during my time here!
